EARTH CITY, Mo. -- If nothing else, wide receiver/quarterback Kain Colter will someday be the answer to this trivia question: Who was the first free agent to sign with the Los Angeles Rams in their second stint in the City of Angels?
Colter signed with the Rams on Tuesday and took to social media Wednesday to express his gratitude for the opportunity.

To this point, Colter is probably best remembered as the former Northwestern quarterback who attempted to help unionize college football players. Those attempts were unsuccessful but didn't derail Colter's professional football aspirations.
Colter went to training camp with the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 where he attempted to make the switch to wide receiver.
