ST. LOUIS • Judge David Dowd has removed himself from the Edward Jones Dome authority’s suit against the city regarding a public vote on new stadium funding.
Last week, Dowd cancelled the first hearing on the issue. One of Dowd’s assistants said then that the judge was “under the weather.”
This week, the St. Louis Circuit Court’s presiding judge, Bryan Hettenbach, reassigned the case to Judge Joan Moriarty. Hettenbach said on Wednesday that Dowd is home under a doctor’s order, and sent the case back to Hettenbach for reassignment.
Hettenbach said he understands that some might think Dowd is trying to get out of hearing a contentious lawsuit.
