Well this is some news as training camps are set to open in just days: Houston Texans All-Pro defensive lineman J.J. Watt underwent back surgery this week and will start camp on the physically unable to perform list.
Houston’s veterans report to camp on July 30.
The news was first reported by John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Players on the PUP list for training camp can be taken off at any time.
McClain notes that Watt is expected to be ready for the Texans’ season opener against the Chicago Bears.
