SCHAUMBURG, ILL. • Longtime NFL executive Carmen Policy is selling the Carson, Calif., stadium project to NFL owners. If his sales pitch goes over well, it could help keep the Rams in St. Louis.
A former NFL executive of the year, Policy is best known for his work in the 1980s and ’90s with the San Francisco 49ers, where he was once president and CEO. In May, he was hired by the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders to help get a stadium built in the Carson area of Los Angeles as well as gain league approval for that project.
