Jim Thomas on the NFL Taking stock of the league at midseason

When all is said and done, New England quarterback Tom Brady might lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl championship and walk away with the most valuable player award.

Since his controversial four-game “Deflategate” suspension ended, Brady has been a man on a mission. Brady’s his name, revenge is his game. But with only four games under his belt, we’re declaring him ineligible for our midseason MVP award in the NFL.

Instead the honor goes to the Atlanta Falcons quarterback known as “Matty Ice.” Matt Ryan leads the NFL in yards passing, on the NFL’s highest-scoring team.
