The Los Angeles Rams will not pick up the fifth-year option on Greg Robinson’s rookie contract, a long-expected decision that became official during Tuesday’s deadline.
Robinson was the second overall pick out of Auburn in 2014, but has struggled at left tackle, enough so that the Rams guaranteed 35-year-old Andrew Whitworth $15 million over the offseason to replace him. The Whitworth addition will prompt Robinson to transition to right tackle, bringing even more uncertainty to his future with the Rams.
