JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The wildfires that continue to devastate the Northern California region have hit close to home for Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff.
Goff grew up in Marin County, California, less than 40 miles south of Sonoma and Napa, two of several counties that have been ravaged by wildfires in recent weeks. The death toll hit 42 on Tuesday night, according to local reports, and thousands have been displaced.
"Brutal," Goff said last week. "It's been rough."
Now Goff is hoping to do something about it. On Tuesday, an off day for his Rams, Goff launched a GoFundMe page (found on his Twitter page) with the goal of raising $50,000 for the Sonoma County Fire Chiefs Association.
