Something that all teams in the NFL will need to figure out this offseason are the new kickoff rules that are set to be implemented. That will especially be the case for the Los Angeles Rams who had one of the worst special teams units last season, ranking 32nd in special teams DVOA.
Instead of kickoffs as we’ve come to know them, under the new rules, the kicking team will continue to kick from the 35-yard line. However, there will be no head start for the coverage unit and no players from either side will be allowed to move until a returner touches the ball or the ball hits the ground.
