How the Rams spend their cap space compared to other NFC West teams

The Los Angeles Rams have taken a slight shift in their roster construction over the past few seasons. From 2018 to 2022, the Rams were a veteran-heavy roster with most of their cap allocated to the top player. As a result, they sacrificed some of their youth as they traded away draft picks and therefore depth on the roster.

That has shifted over the last two years as the Rams made 10 or more selections in 2023 and 2024. While the Rams technically still have a top-heavy roster with three “elite’ contracts which is the most in the NFL and least number of what OverTheCap would consider “mid-level” contracts, that will likely be shifting over the next few years.
