A couple weeks ago, as Brian Stull entered the O’Fallon (Missouri) Post Office, an employee spotted him and promptly imitated a bird call.
“He remembered me,” said Stull, who previously worked for the XFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks — and now does again as the team's director of communications. “And he greeted me with a ‘Ka-kaw!’”
It’s the silliest of sounds — and it’s not even the sound a hawk makes — but “Ka-kaw” became part of the local lexicon during the Battlehawks’ brief existence, back in the first months of 2020.
