Restless reporters sardined into a half-circle around Todd Gurley’s locker on Sunday. To the left, running back Tre Mason slowly dressed. Gurley finally arrived, but instead of going to the middle of the half-circle, he moved the media gaggle five feet to the right – “Let’s give Tre some room,” Gurley said.
Many stars would’ve hopped right in the spotlight — but Gurley saw the media’s offensive encroachment on Mason and took responsibility. Yes, yes, this is sort of like The Onion headline: Pro Athlete Lauded For Being Decent Human Being. But right now, Gurley is too good to be true — considerate with considerable grit, humble in his interviews and rough-and-tumble in his rushing.
