This could be the year that Bruce earns a gold jacket from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Well, he’s already earned it — Bruce had a Hall of Fame career. But this past Thursday, he was the only wide receiver named as one of the 15 finalists for five spots in Canton. Last year, he had to wait out Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. It’s very possible that during Super Bowl weekend, the St. Louis Rams legend becomes, officially, a football legend.
“When I think about it,” said Bruce, who had just finished a phone conversation with Dick Vermeil, “I think about all the people that played a part in the development of me from an athletic standpoint or just culminating into a man, they’re getting a big kick out of it, they’re excited about it, they’re of the belief that this year is the year — as well as I am.
