The LA Rams hit the floor running on Monday January 6. Before noon pacific time, the Rams had already parted ways with defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. By 3 p.m. PT, former running backs coach Skip Peete was dismissed. And then, the reports fell silent.
For today, at least.
After a disappointing 9-7 record, the LA Rams surprised nobody with changing some of the coaches. The surprise was the speed of those changes, and the roles of the coaches who were dismissed.
After all, some could make the argument against quarterback coach Shane Waldron. After all, quarterback Jared Goff regressed this season, albeit due to a very shaky offensive line.
