Kevin Greene graduated from what was then Granite City South High School way back in 1980. So it's been a while since he walked the halls on a regular basis. But whenever he comes back, the memories rush back as if he never left.
So it was Tuesday morning, when Greene was honored as a Hometown Hall of Famer in a ceremony in the school gymnasium. The school was presented with a plaque of Greene, in commemoration of his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August, Class of 2016.
The school, now known as Granite City High School, was the 106th in the nation honored for producing a Pro Football Hall of Famer, in a program sponsored by Ford Motor Company.
