MINNEAPOLIS
Here are some notes from the first two quarters of action.
GOFF STARTS
Rookie quarterback Jared Goff made his first start of the preseason and got the Rams off to a solid start with his first drive. Playing with a mix of starters and reserves on the offensive unit, Goff led Los Angeles on a seven-play, 62-yard touchdown drive to open the game.
Goff completed three of his four passes on the first drive, including converting both third downs the Rams faced. On the first — a 3rd-and-2 play — the Cal product recognized the rush and got off a quick pass to running back Chase Reynolds in the flat that ended up going for 22 yards.
