MINNEAPOLIS -- Minutes after the St. Louis Rams eschewed an extra point because of concerns about the wind at the west end of the stadium, coach Jeff Fisher sent kicker Greg Zuerlein on to the field to attempt a 61-yard field goal after switching sides.
With the wind at his back, Zuerlein made it with room to spare, the longest made field goal of Zuerlein's career and the longest in franchise history. Zuerlein made a 60-yarder in his rookie season in 2012. He missed a 63-yard attempt wide right two weeks ago against Cleveland.
Winds at TCF Bank Stadium are swirling around 20 miles per hour on the open west end of the stadium but it's at the offense's back going east.
