Glitz, grit and a win for Rams in LA debut

LOS ANGELES • Jeff Fisher saw a familiar face from St. Louis, smiled broadly, and said: “Did that look familiar?”

Actually it did, on a couple of levels. Fisher’s teams in St. Louis always were good for one or two games a season in which no one expected them to win ... and they won. Of course, they always were good for one or two a year in which they stubbed their toes and lost to an inferior foe.

On Sunday, it was the former. Despite not scoring a touchdown for the second week in a row, the Rams managed to defeat Seattle 9-3 in their return to Los Angeles — the first regular-season home game there for Stan Kroenke’s Midwest defectors since 1994.
