Charity started dancing at the age of five, and instantly fell in love. Growing up in St. Louis, she was lucky enough to not only dance in her studio, but also for The Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis’ productions of White Christmas and The Wizard of Oz. With her success at “The Muny,” Charity was accepted into the trainee program at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, attending the school in summers during middle and high school. Once high school ended, Charity faced a tough choice: go to college or dance professionally.
Charity decided to enroll at Barnard College in New York City, where she studied economics and social history.
