Van Jefferson was setup for success well before he even got to the NFL, but the former second round pick of the Los Angeles Rams was traded to the Atlanta Falcons last season and he’s already onto his third career team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The son of a former NFL receiver and current NFL receivers coach, Shawn Jefferson, Van signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in March to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster.
But through OTAs and without any standouts behind George Pickens, it seems as though Jefferson’s limited experience with the Rams is paying off in terms of playing time: According to Mark Kaboly of The Athlete and several other Steelers beat writers, Jefferson is the player to beat for Pittsburgh’s number two receiver position.
