For Rams to show they belong in playoff picture, three is a magic number

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- As the second longest-tenured player on the St. Louis Rams' roster, linebacker James Laurinaitis found himself unafraid to bask in a win against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

It wasn't just because St. Louis (4-3) had beaten a hated rival and improved to 3-0 against NFC West opponents. For the first time since he joined the Rams as a second-round pick in 2009, Laurinaitis is on a winning team in the month of November. Nobody on the current roster was around the last time that happened, in 2006.
