SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Asked last week who his swing tackle behind starters Joe Staley and Trent Brown is, San Francisco 49ers coach Chip Kelly said Anthony Davis would take on that job in addition to his duties as the starting right guard.
As it turns out, the swing tackle role is the only one Davis currently has. On Saturday, Davis missed practice amid reports that he was considering retirement again. By Monday night, Andrew Tiller, who worked at right guard in the early parts of camp before apparently ceding the job to Davis, was back in his usual position.
