After the Baltimore Ravens pulled off a surprise move earlier this week by releasing veteran safety Eric Weddle, the Los Angeles Rams seemed like a long shot for a landing spot, mainly because of all the interest he would be drawing from other teams.
Similar to situations with most teams across the league, the Rams knew there was always the chance of Weddle being too expensive to come on board since part of the reason behind the Ravens releasing him was due to the $7.5 million saved against the salary cap.
With this all in mind, it really wasn’t that much of a surprise to consider Los Angeles a long shot destination for Weddle, especially with the potential money he would be seeking for a veteran his age.
