Early on in the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams addressed their need at safety by signing Eric Weddle to a friendly two-year, $10.5 million deal since they knew keeping Lamarcus Joyner around was going to be too expensive.
Despite the veteran’s release from the Baltimore Ravens a few months ago, the fact that Weddle took home Pro Bowl honors in each of his three seasons with the team shows he still had plenty to offer for the Rams.
Even if Weddle only ends up being part of the short-term solution for Los Angeles, if it helps them achieve the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl, this is all that really matters.
