Draft surprise: Bears, Chiefs, Texans trade up for QBs

Cleveland got things going by — surprise! — doing the logical thing. Chicago, however, did not, setting the tone for a wild ride at the top half of the 2017 NFL draft.

The Browns selected Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, who despite all the Mitchell Trubisky noise, was the wire-to-wire favorite as No. 1 overall pick by just about everyone. Browns included, as it turned out.

“It was really just a weight off my shoulders to finally get the announcement of what I’ve been working for to come to fruition,” Garrett told Browns reporters via conference call.
