Division rival trades starting QB to Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders were unsuccessful in their attempt to get Matthew Stafford from the Rams, so they turned to the quarterback who they felt was the next-best option. That’s Geno Smith.

The Seattle Seahawks traded Geno Smith to the Raiders on Friday in exchange for a third round pick. Two days after the Seahawks were announced to be putting DK Metcalf on the trade block, Seattle has made an even bigger move by parting with their starting quarterback and sending him to Las Vegas.

The trade reunites Smith with Pete Carroll, the new head coach of the Raiders, as he is essentially the only head coach who has ever had that high of an opinion of Smith.
