CANTON, Ohio — When he was hired by the St. Louis Rams in 1997, Dick Vermeil went a full half-hour into his introductory press conference before taking a single question. Local television carrying the event finally gave up, cutting away to the regular-scheduled programming.
Well, Hurricane DV was back at it again Saturday in all his glory during his induction speech at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He didn’t go quite as long this time — a shade over 23 minutes. Then again, the time limit for each inductee was supposed to be 8 1/2 minutes.
