Cut by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, Pierre Desir's NFL career took another turn Sunday when he was claimed on waivers by the San Diego Chargers.
The cornerback from Lindenwood University and Francis Howell Central High School must now take a crash course on the Chargers' defensive playbook. San Diego opens its regular season Sunday at Kansas City.
"Blessed to start this next chapter of my life in San Diego," Desir said on his certified Twitter account, @pierre_desir. "Look forward to meeting the front office, my teammates and the fans. #ChargedUp."
A fourth-round pick by Cleveland in 2014, Desir appeared in 19 games with seven starts over his two seasons with the Browns.
