ST. LOUIS • Plans revealed on Wednesday imagine a north riverfront stuffed with apartments, business incubators, grassy terraces, fountains and even a floating beer garden — all flanked by a system of parks and trails along the Mississippi River.
The Great Rivers Greenway trails district hosted an open house at downtown's Central Library on Wednesday afternoon to report progress on the plan.
The turnout surprised event planners; At least 150 had toured the walk-through presentation by 6 p.m. "They're excited," said Susan Trautman, executive director of Great Rivers.
Wednesday marked the first public presentation of the proposal.
