Coming into the 2024 season, there was little doubt that the Los Angeles Rams defense was going to take a step back. When you lose the greatest defensive player of all-time, there is no replacing that and there is going to be an adjustment period. This is a group that could get better as the year goes on, but for the time being they have struggled.
Through three weeks, the Rams defense currently ranks 31st in EPA per play and 31st in DVOA. They’re also tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the most explosive plays given up this season.
