SAN DIEGO -- The Chargers confirmed on Thursday that the franchise purchased a 5-acre parcel of property in Santa Ana, Orange County, that could house a temporary practice facility should the team agree with the Rams on a partnership to share the Inglewood project in Los Angeles.
Talks are productive and ongoing between the two teams, with the potential for the two sides to reach a deal in principle in the next few weeks. Still, the Chargers could use that deal as potential leverage in negotiations to get a stadium deal done in San Diego this year.
