ST. JOSEPH, MO. • Mitch Morse's "welcome-to-the-NFL" moment came a year ago at this time from none other than Kansas City great Derrick Johnson
It was a 9-on-7 run period during training camp at Missouri Western State University. Morse pulled to execute his blocking assignment, and there was Johnson, the four-time Pro Bowl linebacker and the Chiefs' career tackling leader.
"Got crushed," Morse recalled. "Flew in the air."
Alas, it was Family Day at Chiefs camp and there were like 10,000 witnesses in the stands.
"Man that was such an embarrassing moment," Morse said.
