Three years ago, Case Keenum found himself in a difficult position with the Los Angeles Rams since despite being the starting quarterback at the moment, the team would go on to trade up to land Jared Goff with the top overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Without question, it was easy to understand the decision by the Rams since Keenum had previously bounced around to numerous teams over the years trying to prove himself while Goff’s stellar career at California gave him all sorts of potential at the NFL level.
At first, Los Angeles felt the best approach for the 2016 season would be to have Goff play behind Keenum while learning from the sidelines as a rookie, but those plans would quickly change, as the Rams’ offense turned out to be one of the biggest jokes in the NFL.
