Joe Buck was in New Jersey on Thursday to begin his marathon schedule, an unprecedented run in which he will be broadcasting up to 18 games, in two sports and in seven cities spread from coast to coast over a 22-day span on major network television.
The St. Louisan is Fox’s lead baseball and football play-by-play broadcaster, and he’s used to a busy October broadcasting MLB postseason play after doing an NFL game or two early in the month as his NFL duties have been curtailed once he is immersed in baseball. But Fox now is in its first season of televising Thursday night NFL contests, and he is going to be doing double duty during the run because — barring postponements — he has no MLB contests scheduled on Thursdays.
