CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Browns released linebacker Scott Solomon, whose 2015 season was stopped short by injuries.
Cleveland had high hopes for Solomon as an outside pass rusher, but he hurt an ankle in the first quarter of the season opener against the New York Jets and was inactive for the next three games. On Oct. 11, he injured a knee on the first play against Baltimore, returned to play but was placed on injured reserve three days later.
Solomon became expendable after the Browns selected two linebackers during last weekend's NFL draft.
