The rivalry between head coaches and former colleagues Sean McVay and Kevin O’Connell could be a great one for the next decade, but unfortunately for O’Connell his Vikings just got some bad news on their prized rookie quarterback: J.J. McCarthy, the 10th overall pick in the draft, will undergo knee surgery after suffering a meniscus injury.
It is not clear yet how many games McCarthy will miss, but the Rams play the Vikings on Thursday Night Football in Week 8.
