Stedman Bailey, who together with Tavon Austin torched defensive backs at West Virginia before they became St. Louis Rams, had a pretty good view of his buddy's second touchdown Sunday.
Bailey plays the vice position on punt returns. That means he has to stop the gunner. The gunner is the guy screaming downfield trying to smash Austin.
It's a hard assignment with few accolades. But Bailey knows there's a decent chance something big will happen if he gets it right. Call it the Austin Effect.
Here's an example. The Rams are clinging to a 17-13 lead in the third quarter.
