SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- As the Los Angeles Rams opened their 2016 training camp, coach Jeff Fisher took a moment during a team meeting to address something that clearly has become important to him in his more than two decades as a head coach.
As captured on an early episode of the HBO series "Hard Knocks," Fisher explained to his players how much he values the pregame national anthem. At the time, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had not yet begun his protest of racial oppression and other societal issues by sitting or kneeling during the song.
