San Francisco linebacker NaVorro Bowman sat out the entire 2014 NFL season after suffering a horrific knee injury against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC title game earlier that year.
On a fourth-quarter play near the goal line, Bowman stripped the ball from Jermaine Kearse and got his leg caught under the Seattle receiver when another 49eres put a finishing hit on Kearse — and Bowman’s knee. The result was a torn ACL and MCL.
“It’s been tough. I mean, it wasn’t like I fractured my arm,” said Bowman, whose 49ers take on the Rams Sunday in a noon game at the Edward Jones Dome.
