ST. LOUIS • City aldermen are increasingly dissatisfied with a lack of information regarding the promised financing package for a new riverfront football stadium, several said Thursday.
Specific financing details have been delayed for weeks, causing the 28-member Board of Aldermen to question how great the city’s financial commitment will be for the $1 billion project. Gov. Jay Nixon’s stadium task force has focused on hammering out a deal with Mayor Francis Slay’s office while negotiating with the NFL, largely keeping the aldermen out of the details.
“They are relying on the Board of Aldermen to pass this, yet they have not included us in the decisions,” said Alderman Cara Spencer.
