After a whole lot of news about a whole lot of nothing, the San Francisco 49ers finally reached an extension agreement with receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The fourth-year receiver who ranked seventh in the NFL in yards last year (Puka Nacua was 4th), signed a four-year, $120 million extension with $76 million guaranteed.
The deal gives Aiyuk the second-highest guarantee for a receiver in NFL history (Justin Jefferson’s $88.7 million far outpaces everyone else) and pays him $30 million per season, tied with Amon-Ra St. Brown for fourth in the league. This must come as such a relief for 49ers GM John Lynch, who can now turn his attention to that other (far more important) player who wants even more money than Aiyuk.
