The NBA released its All-Star fan voting totals thus far and, in the shocked of all shockers, no one from the Los Angeles Lakers made the lists. Not even Marcelo Huertas. The voting is obviously rigged.
All joking aside, anyone who expected any Lakers to earn significant voting should probably get themselves checked out. Kobe Bryant absolutely deserved to play in the game last year as a lifetime achievement award, but for his actual play last season? Yeah. No.
I do think eventually, as more fans get behind the young core, they’ll receive a bump in voting compared to from other franchises, but before we start talking about even the possibility, the organization will have to enjoy more consistent success.
