LOS ANGELES – Lou Williams made his 44-point performance sound routine, like it’s something he does every night.
“I was just making shots,” he said after a career night in a 117-115 loss to Oklahoma City on Friday. “I think down the stretch, I made one, made two, get some free throws and things started to snowball from there. My approach was the same.”
Williams’ simple approach not only gave the Lakers’ a boost in their offense and confidence, but lifted him into some lofty company. The 2015 Sixth Man of the Year became just the fifth player this season to score 44 points or more, joining Stephen Curry, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Paul George.
