The warm words highlighted their improved relationship and unwavering respect, as Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant thanked each other for helping them win three NBA championships together (2000-2002).

While Bryant spoke graciously about O’Neal during his statue unveiling on Friday outside of Staples Center, O’Neal offered a prediction many believe will happen.

“Next time we’re out here for a statue,” O’Neal said, “it’ll probably be your statue.
