BROOKLYN –
BROOKLYN – The Lakers were down 11 points to a team that hadn’t beaten anyone all season. Winless themselves, they were in no position to judge.
But they needed to figure something out quickly.
Byron Scott summoned Metta World Peace, the 35-year-old New York City native who last appeared in a regular season game 622 earlier.
He had an immediate impact on the defensive end, and after the Lakers rallied and held on to win 104-98, World Peace drew the most praise from Scott and his teammates.
“He came in and gave us a lift,” Scott said.
