LAS VEGAS >> Out of the corner of his eye, Lakers coach Luke Walton saw something that took his temporary focus away from watching his players warm up.
It was none other than Warriors coach Steve Kerr. Walton worked for him as an assistant the past two years and quickly became close through similar coaching philosophies and personalities.
Winning also helped, too. The Warriors secured an NBA championship in 2015 and followed with the league’s all-time best record in 2015-16. Disappointment to them meant losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals in seven games.
