The Los Angeles Lakers have been consistently valued by Forbes as the second-most valuable franchise in the NBA, and the team (finally) appears to be flexing their financial muscles a bit.
There are caps on what the Lakers can pay their players, sure, but anything outside of that is an area where the front office can use their extra cash to get a leg up on the rest of the league.
The Lakers are taking advantage in recent weeks, attempting to make additions to their analytics team as well as revamping how their scouting department works in order to make it larger and more efficient.
