NEW YORK -- Not since the Cold War, when all-out nuclear war seemed ever imminent, have tensions been so high between Russia (then part of the Soviet Union) and the United States.
From American intelligence agencies recently concluding with “high confidence” that Russia interfered with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, to a CNN report that Trump and Obama were presented with classified documents that included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Trump, these are tricky times for Russia-U.S. relations.
It’s even trickier for a Russian working in America, such as Los Angeles Lakers center Timofey Mozgov.
