The Sparks have added another pick to their haul in Thursday’s WNBA draft.
The team acquired the no. 7 pick from the Dallas Wings as well as Chicago’s 2022 second-round pick for L.A.’s 2022 first-rounder. This gives the Sparks two first-rounders in tomorrow’s draft, no. 7 and their original no. 10 pick.
At first blush, it’s an odd move to get an extra selection in a draft that has been pegged as one of the weaker ones. But that designation mostly applies to the top of the draft, which isn’t where the Sparks have added a pick.
