Two NBA greats — Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson — entered the contest neck-and-neck in the race for the league scoring title.
But by the final buzzer, Bryant had bested Iverson in both individual and team success, dropping 48 points in the Lakers’ 119-93 win over Philadelphia.
Bryant shot 19-of-29 from the field and was an inferno from deep, as he knocked down all seven of his 3-point attempts.
“Kobe makes shots,” Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheeks told reporters. “We kept saying they were incredible shots, and for most people they are. But for Kobe, I don’t think they were incredible.
