Despite a near triple-double from Kobe Bryant, the Lakers were simply unable to shut the door on Toronto.
Bryant poured in 27 points (11-of-24), 16 rebounds and nine assists, while also hitting from 13 feet away to put Los Angeles up by four with 1:46 remaining.
However, the Raptors managed to chip back into it, and Bryant was off on his game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer in L.A.’s 106-105 loss.
Pau Gasol provided 22 points, while Andrew Bynum added 21, but Toronto managed to hang around thanks largely to a 21-9 advantage in free throws.
Meanwhile, Andrea Bargnani (22 points) and Chris Bosh (18 points, 13 rebounds) also kept the Raptors afloat.
